Hernia repair surgery

Though hernias rarely have symptoms, they can sometimes be painful and you'll need surgery to put that part of the abdomen back to where it should be.

We offer a number of hernia operations so you can have the most appropriate treatment. Your consultant can discuss the options with you to put your mind at ease and help you make the right choice for your surgery.

The surgery can be either keyhole or open surgery depending on your specific case. Keyhole surgery involves making three small incisions and using a telescopic camera to direct the operation.

Recovery time is usually two to three weeks and a follow up with your consultant will be scheduled to check on your hernia as part of your Bupa aftercare package.
