Wisdom tooth extraction with Bupa

The wisdom tooth extraction procedure is generally done under local anaesthetic to help you stop feeling pain during the treatment. The procedure time and how it is performed can vary; depending on how deeply impacted your wisdom teeth are.

Your surgeon will widen your tooth socket until the tooth is loose enough to be removed. If the wisdom tooth is difficult to remove, the surgeon may cut through your gums or jawbone to reach the tooth. Most wisdom tooth extractions take just a few minutes to complete. In more complex cases, or if more than one tooth needs to be removed, it may take up to 20 minutes.

To help put your mind at rest, all our wisdom tooth extraction surgery patients receive an aftercare package. This includes a follow-up appointment with a dentist, as well as readmission into a dental centre within 30 days of the initial procedure, should it be needed.

In the unlikely event of any complications arising from your procedure, the cost of additional treatment required may also be covered subject to the terms and conditions of the package that you choose
