We’re proud to have trained cancer support nurses who, as experts in their field, know how to help you through the difficult times you’re facing.
If you are diagnosed with cancer we can provide cover and support at every stage of your treatment†.
For genetic testing
Your body is unique, so if you’re diagnosed with cancer, we could offer you genetic or molecular profiling tests to see if the treatment‡ is right for you. That way, we can reduce the need for trial and error and get you on the right path faster.
For fast access to a support team
For breast and bowel cancer symptoms you can call us straight away. As long as your symptoms are covered under your policy, our direct access service means you can get the advice you need when you need it, usually without visiting your GP.††
For drugs and treatments
If your consultant recommends a drug or treatment that isn’t widely available, we could approve it for you within 24 hours, as long as the drug is licensed for your specific condition within the UK and eligible. We even consider those that aren’t available on the NHS or NICE approved.
For access to counsellors
Everyone’s experience of cancer is different and we won’t tell you how to feel. Just know that we’re here if you want us to be, with advice, understanding and vital support as well as the treatment you need.

†With Bupa cancer cover there are no time limits and all your eligible treatment costs are paid in full for as long as you have a Bupa health insurance policy which includes cancer cover.
‡Access to eligible breakthrough cancer drugs and treatments often before they are available on the NHS or approved by NICE as long as they are evidence-based. Bupa will not fund for genetic testing when solely just for the purpose of screening.
††Direct access telephone services are available as long as the symptoms are covered under the policy. Pre-existing and chronic conditions are normally excluded. Direct access services may not be available for some underwriting methods. Please call us to allow us to check your eligibility for the direct access service.
If you have health insurance provided by your employer and your employer has selected an overall annual maximum benefit, eligible costs will be paid up to that limit. You must use a healthcare facility from your chosen Bupa network and a Bupa-recognised consultant who agrees to charge within our limits (a fee-assured consultant).
