Despite it affecting 1 in 10 women in the UK (making it as common as diabetes)*, over half of people in the UK don’t know what endometriosis is^.
That’s why we felt it was important for it to feature as our next addition to our Women’s Health Hub, which launched in January this year.
Endometriosis is a workplace issue because it’s often a hidden illness but can cause severe symptoms. From chronic pain and very heavy periods, to infertility and mental health conditions, the impact of endometriosis can affect someone’s ability to perform usual day-to-day tasks, leading to absenteeism, presenteeism and, in some cases, not feeling able to hold down a job.
Our Women’s Health Hub now includes free resources to help your clients and their employees, whether they’re looking for endometriosis support for themselves, or wanting to provide support to colleagues, friends or family members. These resources, including information and expert advice from an endometriosis specialist and personal stories from women with first hand experience, can all be found here.
We’re continuously adding to our Women’s Health Hub, so please remember to keep checking in here for more news and updates.
