Business in the Community’s (BITC) Mental Health at Work report commissioned by YouGov has been sponsored by Bupa. From this, we’ll bring you four case studies with businesses who are part of BITC’s Wellbeing Leadership Team to show how they have supported their employees to promote positive mental health and wellbeing.
The first we bring to you is around domestic abuse. This year’s report discovered that a quarter of workers with mental health problems unrelated to work stated this was because of marital or relationship problems. 11% of these workers cited that their partner, spouse or a family member was being physically, psychologically, emotionally, sexually or financially abusive.
Employees are increasingly telling no-one about their mental health issues. Today, we share with you a video of Mark Allan (Bupa’s Commercial Director, UK Insurance and a member of BITC’s Wellbeing Leadership Team) introducing Charlie Godolphin (Domestic Abuse Lead at Lloyds Banking Group) explaining how they help employees who may be experiencing domestic abuse.
