Bupa announces that Alex Perry has been appointed CEO of Bupa Insurance, leading Bupa’s regulated insurance business in the UK.
Alex Perry said: “I am thrilled to become Bupa Insurance’s CEO. Investing in our own and our family’s health has never been so important, particularly at a time when the NHS is under so much pressure.
“Bupa’s success since its formation nearly 70 years ago rests on our absolute focus on our customers. I’m committed to championing their corner – whether it’s improving the experience we give them, making the case for removing Insurance Premium Tax which unfairly penalises people who are reducing the burden on the NHS, or getting a better deal for our customers with healthcare providers.
“I am determined that Bupa will always be focused on delivering value for money, providing exceptional care, and helping our customers navigate the complex world of healthcare.”
The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
Bupa's purpose is helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives. Our status, as a company limited by guarantee with no shareholders, enables us to make our customers our focus, reinvesting our profits to provide more and better healthcare for current and future customers.
We employ over 84,000 people, principally in the UK, Australia, Spain, Poland, Hong Kong, Chile, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, India, New Zealand, Thailand and the US.
Around 70% of our revenue is from health insurance, with the rest from health and care provision. We fund healthcare around the world and run clinics, hospitals, dental centres, care homes and retirement villages in a number of countries.
