Bupa UK is re-launching its successful TV advertising campaign tomorrow, Saturday 5 September. The campaign, which first aired in January, highlights how Bupa provide both practical and emotional support to customers when they need it most, through their breadth of healthcare services. The two 30-second TV advertisements focus on Bupa UK’s Cancer Survivorship Programme and Elderly Care Support Line.

For the first time, the advertisements will also be supported by digital ‘Life Stories’ videos, a series of mini documentaries that follow real, unscripted customer experiences.  The videos focus on the most ‘Google’d’ health and care topics, from back pain, to teeth straightening and searching for a care home. Following research that over three quarters of people find online health advice confusing and frustrating, these videos are designed to help to answer people’s questions and give them a better understanding of treatments and care options available.

Commenting on the campaign Simon Chrisp, General Manager, Marketing and Sales, Bupa UK said:
“This campaign highlights that Bupa UK has the healthcare expertise to go above and beyond for our customers. We offer a range of health and care services and can provide advice, guidance and emotional support to help people make more informed decisions.

“With people’s expectations of healthcare providers changing, it is essential that they understand the breadth of our offering. The services highlighted in these advertisements are just a few examples of how we support our customers with their wider healthcare needs.”

The Cancer Survivorship Programme:
The advertisement follows a father returning to ‘normal life’ after finishing cancer treatment. Bupa UK customers with cancer are offered a dedicated cancer nurse who is available for as long as customers and their families need them (even after recovery), and can offer support on emotional as well as practical issues.

Elderly Care Support Line:
This advertisement highlights the difficulty of, and emotion involved in, making decisions about elderly care for loved ones. Bupa UK’s Elderly Care Support Line is available to anyone (regardless of whether they are a Bupa UK customer), and aims to offer free, impartial advice on all aspects of elderly care.

Bupa UK Life Stories videos:

Bupa UK has teamed up with award-winning production company, KEO Films, to create ‘Life Stories’; a series of videos that explore some of the most searched-for health and care topics, following real, unscripted customer experiences. This is the first time the videos are being promoted in tandem with TV advertising, and they will be targeted to deliver content relevant to the user, via Video on Demand, digital display advertising and social media.

The new campaign launches on 5 September and will run until mid November. The advertisements will air this weekend across a mix of terrestrial and satellite programmes, including the England Euro 2016 qualifier and Through the Key Hole on ITV, as well as top shows on Channel 4, ITV2, E4, More 4 and Film 4. Additional activity will also launch to further support the above the line campaign, including DRTV, direct mail, press and door drops.
