What’s included

Our multi-trip policies are designed to suit a variety of holidays.

Each of our annual policies includes:

  • Unlimited medical expenses cover, including repatriation
  • Cover for a continuous 12-month period, during which you can take trips of up to 31 days with Classic and Premier (unless an upgrade has been selected and the appropriate premium paid) or up to 91 days on our Gold policy
  • All members insured on the policy can travel independently
  • Choice of cover for Europe only, and worldwide or worldwide excluding the USA, Canada, the Bahamas, Caribbean and Mexico
  • Maximum age of 79 for Classic, Gold, and Premier on annual policies. Age limit increased to 89 on our Premier European annual policies.
  • Cancellation cover so you’re protected even before you travel
  • Over 100 sports and activities covered
  • Winter sports cover included (age restrictions apply)
  • 24-hour emergency assistance line

  • Classic policy: This policy does not offer the option to cover any pre-existing medical conditions. Please review the policy wording for a full definition of what is considered as pre-existing.

    Premier and Gold policies: We’ll ask you a few questions about any existing medical condition you, or anyone travelling with you, may have. We'll tell you if we can provide cover for these conditions and if we'll charge an extra premium. Then you can decide whether you want your policy to include them.

    For all our policies: You do need to make sure that at the time of booking the trip and at the time of taking the trip you’re fit to travel. Also, you must not know of any reason why the trip could be cancelled. You must not travel against the advice of a medical practitioner or for the purpose of obtaining treatment, or undergoing investigations, tests or consultations abroad or have been diagnosed as suffering from a terminal illness.

  • You can include children under the age of 18 at the start of the insurance period, in full time education (cover will cease immediately if they’re no longer in full time education).

    Where Family cover has been selected and paid for, any member of your family covered on the policy will be covered when travelling independently.

  • Cover for trips in your country of residence is included on our Classic, Gold and Premier annual policies and available for single trips if requested. Please be aware that all trips must be for two or more consecutive nights and at least 50 miles from your home.

  • No, we do not need this information as long as you make sure your Bupa travel insurance is up to date before you start your trip and that if covers your destination, any activities or sports, including any winter sports you may be planning to do.

    It’s packed with essential travel advice and tips, and up-to-date country-specific information. Please be aware that we don’t provide cover for travel to areas where the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has advised against all or all but essential travel.

    Please be aware that our Bupa Travel insurance does not provide cover in areas, where cover would expose Bupa Insurance Limited (or the Bupa group of companies) to any sanction, prohibition or restriction under United Nations resolution or the trade of economic sanction, law or regulation of the European Union, United Kingdom or United States of America. If Bupa reasonably consider that by continuing the policy we or you may break any law, regulation, code or court order, we may terminate the policy immediately. This includes, but is not limited to travelling to or through Iran

  • We provide cover for a number of activities on the Classic, Gold and Premier policies. Some of these activities are covered in full with no restrictions and some will have conditions and restrictions.

    However all activities are only covered on the following basis:

    • you have booked (where appropriate) with a fully licensed and reputable company
    • you have taken all necessary precautions and wear the correct protective clothing/eye wear for the activity you are undertaking
    • all activities are conducted on a non-professional, non-competitive and non-endurance basis ie no tournaments or matches

    Winter sports: On annual policies winter sports is included up to 10 days on Classic, 17 days on Premier and 21 days on Gold. For single trips and other policy types, this is an optional upgrade that is available.
