You're ready to get a quote
Before you begin, we just need to make you aware of a few conditions. To be eligible for our health insurance you must:
- be registered continuously with a GP for at least 6 months or have access to and be able to provide your full medical records in English
- be a UK resident
- not receive payment for taking part in sports
Please be aware that due to the increased demand on hospitals and clinics across the UK as a result of COVID-19, tests and treatments are likely to be disrupted or postponed. Private hospitals, nurses and consultants will be supporting the NHS in caring for patients with COVID-19. Cancer treatment and other serious and urgent medical needs are being prioritised, along with the treatment of COVID-19. Non-urgent operations and hospital care will be temporarily unavailable until the time is right for them to be reinstated, which means some treatment will be delayed.
It’s also worth bearing in mind that there’s no private treatment available for COVID-19. When there’s a pandemic (like COVID-19) in the UK, the NHS and Public Health England coordinate all cases and manage all resources. It’s very important it’s done this way so that the Government is able to continuously monitor, assess and manage the situation. However if you choose to take out a policy now, we’ve developed a wide range of health support and services for you to access from your home, reflecting the new reality that our country is facing. You can find out more at bupa.co.uk/coronavirus where we’ll be providing regular updates including answers to questions you may have, and information to help you manage your physical and emotional wellbeing over this period.
If you decide to take out health insurance with us, we’ll need to know about any pre-existing conditions or symptoms you may have once you’ve purchased your cover. We’ll send you a medical history form, which you’ll need to complete and send back to us so we can confirm exactly what your policy covers you for. We recommend that you send your form back to us as soon as possible so there are no delays on any claims you make and we’re able to pay for any eligible treatment you need. This won’t affect the cost of your policy. There are also general exclusions for some medical conditions, which are not covered as standard within our health insurance policies. Full details can be found in our policy documents.
