Sian Elise Evans, known as Elise, qualified as a dentist in 2000 and brings a wealth of experience to her role at Bupa Dental Care Grange-over-Sands.

Training and qualifications

Elise formerly worked as a senior house officer in hospital and as a community dentist, although most of her career has been spent in general practice.

Elise started her dental career in Wrexham North Wales near to where she grew up. After returning to Manchester to do post graduate qualifications she met her husband, also a dentist at the practice. Elise started working in Grange over Sands in 2009.

Treatments offered

Elise has completed further training in root canal work and enjoys all aspects of general practice, focusing primarily on providing pain free dentistry and helping patients with dental anxiety. Elise aims to be sympathetic and understanding of her patients’ phobias no matter how big or small. Elise wants to provide effective local anaesthesia as painlessly as possible, as she believes it is essential to relaxing patients and making sometimes difficult procedures as comfortable as can be.

Elise also has further qualifications in dental sedation which allows her to administer intravenous sedation. This form of sedation is useful for extremely phobic patients or for lengthy surgical procedures like the placement of implants. Elise’s husband places implants at the practice and they often work together on cases where sedation is required. Elise provides treatments in all aspects of general practice from orthodontics, root canal work, dentures, extractions and cosmetic dentistry. If something is beyond Elise’s scope of practice she would not hesitate to refer her patients within the practice to her colleagues or to other experts in the dental community.

Elise works in Grange four days a week, and although her hours are dictated by caring for her three children she always tries to be as flexible as possible to accommodate patients.
