Professor Chong is Professor of Restorative Dentistry/Honorary Consultant at the Institute of Dentistry, Barts and The London, at Queen Mary University of London. He has also been at Lister House since 1990, where he practices as a specialist in endodontics.
He is actively involved with the education and training of dentists and future specialists. He is an examiner for the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh. For over 22 years, he was involved with the education and training of dentists and future specialists at Guy's, now part of King's College London.
Professor Chong is the editor and contributing author of two editions of the classic Harty’s Endodontics in Clinical Practice. He is the author of Managing Endodontic Failure in Practice, which is available in five languages and an iBook version. He is a contributing author to Self-Assessment Picture Tests in Dentistry: Endodontics and the second edition of Principles of Endodontics. He is also the editor-in-chief (UK) of ENDO – Endodontic Practice Today, an international endodontics journal and the official publication of the Belgian Association for Endodontology & Traumatology and the French Society of Endodontics. In addition, he is on the editorial board of the International Endodontic Journal, the official publication of the British Endodontic Society, Danish Endodontic Society, European Society of Endodontology, Flemish Society of Endodontology, Irish Endodontic Society and Lebanese Society of Endodontology.
