Sonia qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1993 and has since gained extensive experience in general practice, having worked in Brighton, Spain and Edinburgh.

Sonia is an experienced professional with a calm and confident manner, quickly reassuring even the most nervous of patients. She loves the variety and continuity that general practice offers and has a philosophy of preventive health, strongly believing in a “smile for life”.

In addition to her practice, Sonia has spent a lot of time furthering her skills, completing studies in anxiety management, advanced restorative dentistry, cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry, and placing dental implants.

She is also one of the clinical leads in the NHS Dental Emergency service in Edinburgh as well as being a mentor to newly qualified graduates, easing their path into general practice, and to dental nurses wishing to further some of their skills.

Outside of dentistry, Sonia enjoys sport, especially cycling and swimming (and has been known to dabble in triathlon!). She also enjoys relaxing with music and a good book.
