Simplified Full Medical Underwriting Form: launching for all segments on 6 August

Bupa is streamlining the underwriting journey for all customer types, with a simplified Full Medical Underwriting (FMU) application form launching on 6 August 2025.
We’ve streamlined the FMU application process by aligning and reducing the number of medical questions. This update is designed to make things simpler and more efficient for you and your clients—whether they’re consumers, SMEs, or B2B.Previously, different forms included varying numbers of questions depending on the route to market. From August, all FMU forms will follow a consistent structure—making the experience simpler, faster and more intuitive.
What’s changing?
- All FMU application forms will now consist of 9 medical history questions.
- This creates a consistent approach across all FMU application forms, regardless of customer type.
- How you request or send application forms.
- Where you access them (Consumer Intermediary Portal, Bupa Connect, or online).
What’s not changing?
The updated forms will automatically replace existing versions across all platforms. During this transition, old application forms in flight will still be accepted. This update is just for your awareness, so you can inform any clients if they ask about the change. We’re confident this is a positive step forward in simplifying the onboarding journey for our members and making it easier for you to do business with us.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your usual Bupa contact.
