Members First is now live

30 March 2026

Members First is a new treatment option now included as standard for consumer* and SME clients. It’s also available for corporate clients on the Bupa Evolve Master Trust.

From customer feedback, we know that financial barriers can sometimes lead to delays in seeking help. With Members First, your clients get fast and seamless access to talking therapies at no extra cost to them, making sure that quick, convenient care is waiting as soon as they need it.

Now, when your clients choose to have talking therapy through a Bupa service – over the phone, video, or in person – there’ll be no excess to pay and no impact on their outpatient allowance, low claims bonus or no claims discount.

Talking therapies can help your clients deal with mental health challenges, from anxiety and depression to stress and grief. This is our way of making sure costs won’t hold them back from getting the support they need.

Members First starts with mental health talking therapies, with more treatments coming available soon.

Your clients can book and manage their care at the touch of a button with the My Bupa app. We’ll provide support where it suits them, either by phone or video, with our Talking Therapies team, or in person at a Mindplace, our dedicated mental health centres.

It applies to the following talking therapies:

  • Counselling
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
  • Psychology
  • Psychotherapy

Being with Bupa means your clients aren’t just covered by us but treated and cared for by us too. This gives us the flexibility to introduce unique benefits like this when they choose our care pathways.

Your clients can still choose to be treated by other therapists in our network, but any excess and outpatient allowances will apply as normal.

To support your client conversations around Members First we’ve prepared the following documents:
