Memory Walk 2012 Alzheimer's Society in partnership with Bupa Care Homes

Bupa understands that healthy means different things to different people and we aim to 'Help You Find Your Healthy', which is why we're excited to be working in partnership with Alzheimer's Society on Memory Walk 2012.

About Memory Walk

Memory Walk is Alzheimer's Society's flagship fundraising event. Throughout September, thousands of people will take part in walks across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The money raised through Memory Walk will be used to fund Alzheimer's Society's local services so by taking part in your local event, you will be supporting people affected by dementia in your community.

Bupa's specialist dementia care

We provide specialist dementia care in most of our homes, either in the whole home or in a dedicated area. We provide safe environments that are adapted to the unique needs of residents with dementia, so they can enjoy as much independence and mental and physical stimulation as possible.

Every member of staff working in one of our dementia care homes from managers and carers to administrative and domestic staff receives our specialist dementia training programme ‘Person First, Dementia second’ developed by Bradford Dementia Group at the University of Bradford.

Our person-centred care approach means that our residents are respected as an individual and treated with dignity. All our residents have a named key worker and their own Personal Care Plan.

Walk your way to health with Bupa

It might sound too good to be true, but simply walking can help you reach the recommended target of at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise, five days a week.

Regular walking protects you against a number of illnesses and can be an efficient way to get around from A to B. You can easily build walks into a busy lifestyle and you can walk pretty much anywhere, at any time.
