This delightful home is a listed country house near Bridport in the Dorset countryside. It is set in 12 acres near the Jurassic Coast, and is conveniently on a local bus route.
The Hyde offers several types of stay depending on the level of support required - from long-term residential care to respite. We provide care for elderly residents and people with a terminal illness. We also offer convalescence, palliative care, and care for people with Parkinson's disease.
All meals are nutritionally balanced and cooked with fresh ingredients. Some produce is even grown in the home’s own organic garden. Appetising, seasonal dishes are prepared daily with hot and cold choices available. Our experienced chef caters for all tastes. Personal preferences are assessed shortly after arrival and reviewed regularly thereafter.
Residents can choose to eat in the home’s elegant dining room overlooking the gardens or in the privacy of their own rooms if they prefer. We make sure that on their birthdays each resident receives a celebratory meal, a personalised, home-made cake and a flag raised in their honour to make their day extra special. Friends and family are most welcome to join residents for meals if they wish to.
Residents are invited to make full use of the home’s amenities and services and are welcome to participate in daily activities such as gardening, painting, bridge or croquet. Local places of interest include West Bay, Abbotsbury Swannery, Abbotsbury Sub Tropical Gardens and Hardy's Monument. We often organise local trips out and shopping trips can also be arranged.
The home regularly takes part in more unusual events such as open theatre, open gardens and old time music hall.
