Elizabeth Barber was a keen runner before she was left paralysed by a stroke. On learning her passion for running, the team at her Bupa care home vowed to take on a local half marathon, meeting her at the end to help her cross the finish line one more time.

With Bupa being announced as an official partner of the festival this year, colleagues will be taking to the streets to help celebrate on 9-10 June. They’ll also be spreading the word of DiverCity – a diversity and inclusion network for local businesses, set up by Bupa colleagues.
A WWII veteran has defied the odds to become a published author at 97 years old, despite missing out on formal education until the age of 10. Humphrey Phillips, who lives at Bupa Erskine Hall care home in London, started penning his memoirs to help with the grief of losing his wife, Iris, in 2003.
