Residents at Copper Beech Bupa Care Home have had their wishes granted after local school children donated their drawings and paintings for a special art gallery to brighten the home.
As part of Bupa’s #NeverTooLate initiative, which helps residents do the things they’ve long wanted to do, one resident, Madeline Walters, aged 93, loves art and expressed that she wanted to experience an art gallery.
Home Manager Hasib Khan called on Framfield Primary School, where pupils have been studying various artists and recreating their techniques as inspiration for their own work. The children kindly donated some of their favourite pieces and Hasib and his team set about creating an art gallery for the residents.
Madeline was delighted by the art and commented: “I loved seeing my wishes come true and looking at the artwork and seeing how the children express themselves in their own individual ways. I’ve always had a passion for art and having our own art gallery brought here for us was truly special.”
Madeline’s daughter, Alison Walters, added: “I’m so moved that Copper Beech has put so much effort in for my mum as she has such a passion for art and painting.”
The children’s artwork was proudly displayed in the lounge at Copper Beech Bupa Care Home, where residents and their families were able to view it.
Hasib commented: “We are privileged to have the work on display in our home - thank you to all the children at Framfield Primary School. All the residents enjoyed looking at the artwork, it is a great way to stimulate the mind and inspire creativity. We can’t wait to make more wishes come true.”
