What is occupational health?
Occupational health services help to keep you and your employees well, both in and outside of work. Acting as an all-round service, occupational health supports your whole workforce, physically and mentally.
Incorporating a wide range of services, often including health assessments and risk assessments, occupational health gives your company access to highly-qualified specialists who are able to support with health surveillance, assessing staff fitness for work and more.
Whether for a physical condition or related to mental health and wellbeing, occupational health specialists can give professional support and advice whenever needed, for ongoing health issues or even to prevent future health issues from developing.
Research shows that companies who use occupational health services can
save money by avoiding time otherwise lost to sickness absences.
Our occupational health offering
Occupational health
We offer robust occupational health services designed to ensure the health of your employees is never negatively impacted by their work. This could be through proactive monitoring against workplace risk or by being on hand to support and advise them when they find themselves unable to work due to their health.
Our team of experienced occupational health clinicians and case managers are on hand to offer advice and support to ensure your employees stay healthy by offering meaningful health and lifestyle advice to improve both the physical and mental wellbeing of your employees.
All of our business occupational health checks are taken with qualified health clinicians.
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
If you're feeling stressed or worried, you may feel it affect aspects of your life, including work.
It can cause you to feel low in morale, which can lead to ill health and absence.
Each year, almost 12 million working days are lost due to work-related stress.
Bupa's business employee assistance programme offers your team confidential counselling, where they can speak to a specialist about their concerns in a safe environment.
Bupa’s occupational health provides cover across all areas. Our clinicians and case managers are here to support with and prevent harm from health issues both inside and outside of work. Our health surveillance offers workplace-based support, so your team stays safe with regular risk assessments. Also, if any employee becomes ill and they are unable to work, our team is on standby to offer help and advice when they need it. We can also help if your employees experience any health issues outside of work, mental or physical, with routine health assessments and our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
Whether they’re working towards their own health and wellbeing goals or needs some support returning to work, occupational health shows your employees that their wellbeing is key to the success of your company. As well as reducing the number of sick days through health checks and EAP, it gives your team the power to address and manage any health issues. Alongside these benefits, occupational health helps give you peace of mind that your company is actively reducing the number of potential work-related health problems and injuries.
