How can I customise my small business health insurance cover?
Employee-paid excess
Choose whether employees pay nothing each policy year. Or, to help bring your business’ cost down, they can pay a £100, £150, £200 or £500 excess.
Levels of cover
Choose from three different levels of cover: Key, Enhanced and Complete. The outpatient allowances and facility access choices are different for each level.
Types of underwriting
Choose how Bupa assess the risk of insuring employees by choosing an underwriting method. If you switch to Bupa, other methods may be available.
Level of facility access
This can be 300+ partnership facilities or 600+ participating facilities depending on your cover level. Or get access to all 600+ with our Guided Care option.
Partner or family cover
If you’d like to offer cover for your employees’ partners or children, you can do this for an additional cost per person.
Payment method
Pay monthly, quarterly, bi-annually or yearly. Incorporated businesses may face a surcharge of up to 2.5% unless paying yearly.

What’s not included on any level of cover?
These are some of the exclusions that apply. For the full list of exclusions, please refer to the Policy Guide.
Accident and emergency treatment
Any treatment as a result of a visit to accident and emergency.
Chronic conditions
These are ongoing health issues with no known cure. For example, asthma or diabetes.
Overseas treatment
We only cover treatment by Bupa-recognised providers in the U.K.
Pre-existing conditions
Screening, monitoring and preventative treatment
This includes screening for diseases and ongoing care monitoring a condition.
Unrecognised professionals, hospitals and clinics
The healthcare provider visited must be Bupa-recognised.
