Dr David Cunningham studied dentistry at the University of Glasgow, graduating with a BDS in 1991. He then went on to obtain his MSc in Implantology and Restorative Dentistry at the University of Manchester in 2014.
Through DC Implantology, Dr Cunningham’s goal is to continue mentoring and training dentists who wish to develop their skills in implant and restorative dentistry. He remains committed to advancing the fields of guided surgery, digital workflow integration and biologically driven implant protocols.
While already working to a specialist level in implant dentistry, his focus for the future is on clinical excellence, innovation and empowering the next generation of dentists to achieve predictable and high-quality outcomes for their patients.

Dr Cunningham performs advanced implant and restorative dentistry, full-arch rehabilitation, bone regeneration, immediate loading protocols, digital treatment planning and complex restorative and aesthetic reconstruction.
David has been practicing dentistry for over 35 years in clinical practice. He takes great pride in helping patients rebuild confidence and function through precise, evidence-based implant and restorative treatment. He has placed thousands of dental implants and successfully managed many complex, full-arch and aesthetic restorative cases.
David’s approach is centered on precision, empathy and clear communication — ensuring that every patient feels informed, comfortable and fully involved in their care. With a strong reputation as a referral clinician and mentor, He works closely with colleagues across the UK and Ireland, providing collaborative treatment planning, surgical support and advanced education in implant dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, David enjoys sailing, travel, design and family life. He has a keen interest in cars and engineering — disciplines that share the precision and attention to detail that define his clinical approach. He believes that balance, curiosity and craftsmanship are essential both in practice and in life.
