Emergency Dentist

We understand that there are times when you need to see an emergency dentist.

Debilitating toothache, an infection, or a damaged tooth can all require immediate dental attention.

The majority of Bupa Dental Care practices offer emergency appointments and will do their best to arrange last-minute appointments for you. Many of our practices reserve same-day appointments for emergency cases, so please phone as early in the day as possible.

How to book an emergency dentist appointment

How soon a practice can see you will depend on a number of things, such as how many bookings it has and your type of emergency. The practice will try to get you an appointment within 24 hours if they can. For more information, speak with your practice directly.

If your usual dental practice has no emergency appointments available, they may be able to refer you to another dentist that can help. Alternatively, do ring around your nearby practices, because some of our dentists accept emergency appointments from non-patients. At Bupa Dental Care, we have both private and NHS emergency dentists.

What if my dental emergency is outside of service hours?

If you can’t get through to a dentist and you require emergency dental care, call the 24-hour 111 service for help and advice.

Some dentists have a specific out-of-hours emergency number, so if your emergency happens outside of normal working hours, check the website to see if there is a specific number you can call.
