Born in Edinburgh, Hamed studied at Azad University Dental School in Iran where he qualified as a doctor of dental surgery (DDS) before returning to the UK in 2005. He completed Hamed's specialist training in endodontology at King's College, London and is registered as a specialist with the General Dental Council. He also obtained a masters degree in restorative dentistry from Newcastle University School of Dental Sciences.
