Shima Mahdavi Izadi

Dr Mahdavi Izadi pursued her passion for endodontics and was accepted into the three-year specialist programme in endodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute, UCL. She obtained her master’s in clinical dentistry and completed her specialist training in 2014. The following year, she gained entry into the GDC’s specialist list. Her research project has since been published in a scientific publication.

Previously, Dr Mahdavi Izadi completed her undergraduate dental studies at Stockholm’s Karolinska Institute in 2002 and shortly after started her dental career. After moving to the UK in 2003, she worked in general practice for seven years and taught clinical dentistry part-time to undergraduate students at King's College Dental Institute.

In addition to attending conferences in the UK and abroad, she has lectured in endodontic topics. She is currently a guest teacher in endodontics in the department of continuing professional development at the Eastman Dental Institute.

Dr Mahdavi Izadi's enthusiasm for her speciality and compassionate nature is reflected strongly in her approach to patient care. She welcomes referrals for endodontic treatment and has a particular interest in the management of complex cases and non-surgical root canal treatment.
