GDC - 113336 BDS Queen’s University of Belfast 2997, MFDS RCSEdin (Dip Con Sed) Dentist
Laura graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with honours in 2007. She gained a place on the General Professional Training Scheme, offering further postgraduate training in the specialisms of dentistry. This led her to gain a strong interest in oral surgery and develop her skills in supporting nervous patients.
During her general professional training, Laura studied for the diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, which she completed in 2009. She then became a senior house officer in an oral and maxillofacial surgery department where she undertook a wide range of oral surgical training over a two-year period.
Alongside developing her surgical experience, Laura completed a postgraduate diploma in conscious sedation from Newcastle University, gaining a distinction in her thesis. Since 2010, she has provided sedation for her patients and on behalf of other dentists. Providing conscious sedation for complex implant treatments, sinus augmentations and full arch implant restorations, alongside other dentists, has given Laura great exposure to implant dentistry. To further develop her implant dentistry knowledge and skills, Laura completed a year-long implant training course in 2019.
Laura has continued her clinical development in implant dentistry and has almost completed her diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, in association with the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
She’s a member of the Association of Dental Implantology, Women’s Implantology Network and is a keen advocate of women in surgical and implant dentistry. Here at our practice, Laura places Straumann and Ankylos implants.
