Irfan Ahmad qualified from the University of Liverpool and has postgraduate Fellowship qualifications from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the College of General Dentistry.

He has over 30 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings including private practice, universities and worldwide conferences lecturing on topics such as aesthetic, prosthodontic and restorative dentistry. Besides his clinical experience, Irfan’s academic achievements include over 200 publications pertaining to several dental disciplines, and he is the author of eight dental textbooks and has contributed to several books by eminent clinicians.

Irfan is a member of the European Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (EAED), a founding member of the International Academy for Adhesive Dentistry (IAAD), honorary professor of the Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy, reviewer for the British Dental Journal (BDJ), is on the editorial review board of the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry (JCD), and holds the post of aesthetic section editor of the Stomatology Edu Journal.

Irfan’s passion is aesthetic dentistry and restoring smiles with minimal intervention to save as many natural teeth as possible. He is happy to show examples of work he has carried out himself, including tooth whitening, white filling, veneers, crowns and implants. Irfan’s recent interests lie in incorporating digital dentistry for various treatment options, doing away with many antiquated techniques and improving patients’ comfort and dental experience.

Irfan joined Hospital Lane in November 2024.
