Sanet qualified as a dental nurse, with distinction, in South Africa in 2002 and relocated to the UK in 2003. She then worked in both general dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery for 10 years, while completing her UK dental nursing, radiography and oral health education qualifications.

Returning to full-time education, Sanet then qualified as a dental therapist from the Eastman Dental Hospital (Royal College of Surgeons) in 2013. While she was there, she was awarded the Carol Chivers Award as the student therapist demonstrating desirable attributes in theoretical knowledge and practical skills with patients.
