Jo graduated from Newcastle in 2012. She has since gained experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery and restorative dentistry in hospitals and general dental practices, both NHS and private. Jo obtained her membership of the faculty of dental surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Edge Hill University, which enables her to teach and assess dental students at the Leeds Dental Institute.

Jo was awarded a distinction in her MSc in clinical periodontology from the University of Central Lancashire, and has had papers published in the field of periodontology and restorative dentistry.

Jo’s main focus in the care of periodontitis is patient education and motivation, helping people to achieve long-lasting periodontal stability. This is supplemented by high quality non-surgical periodontal therapy and periodontal surgery. Jo is also keen on the use of evidence-based regenerative techniques in order to achieve an optimal result.

Periodontal plastic surgery - including management of recession and gingival overgrowth as well as crown lengthening for aesthetic or restorative indications - can also be offered where appropriate.
