Welcome to our practice
At Bupa Dental Care, the patient always comes first.
We’re here to support you on your journey to better oral health through the best possible treatment and care, and our friendly and professional team is always on hand to answer any questions you might have.
Our dental services
We provide a range of dental treatments for private patients and most of our practices also service NHS patients.
Patient satisfaction is our number one priority, and we are committed to providing access to high quality dental care. We’ll always do our best to satisfy requests for any reasonable adjustments. However, if this isn’t possible, we’ll let you know what options are available, such as other nearby practices that can better meet your needs.

We understand that you may feel anxious about having dental treatment. If this is the case, please let us know. We can work with you to support your concerns and help reduce any anxiety you feel.
We can also provide chaperones for most treatments. If you would prefer there to be a chaperone present, please let us know in advance and we will arrange this.
Making a complaint
If you are unhappy with your treatment or experience, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would prefer that you tell us of any dissatisfaction at the time, as this will enable you to speak to our team about your concern or complaint. You can also speak to the Practice Manager or send us an email.
We will do our best to resolve any issues and ensure that all complaints are handled in accordance with Bupa Dental Care guidelines.
If you are an NHS patient and have a complaint about your treatment or access to healthcare, please contact your Local Integrated Care Board.
If you’re a private patient, you can contact the Dental Complaints Service by telephone on 020 8253 0800, or visit their website.
Both NHS and Private patients can contact the Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW) via their website at www.hiw.org.uk

Roles in the Dental Team
We will now go through the professionals who make up our practice teams.
Dentist
Most dentists work as general dental practitioners, providing dental care to patients. They lead the practice team in diagnoses and development of treatment plans and provide dental treatment to their patients.
Dental Hygienist
Dental hygienists focus on the prevention and treatment of gum disease, and other associated oral health issues. They will provide treatments such as:
• scaling teeth
• polishing teeth
• applying topical fluoride and fissure sealants
• providing oral health advice and education
• taking dental X-Rays
and
• taking impressions of teeth
Dental Therapist
Dental therapists carry out all the same treatments offered by a dental hygienist. However, they also undertake routine dental fixes of both baby and permanent teeth, and extract baby teeth too.
Dental Nurse
Dental nurses support the whole dental team in the treatment of patients. They are also responsible for decontamination and cross infection control and help to ensure patient safety in the practice.
As a team, we will
• Advise you on how to achieve and maintain healthy teeth and gums
• Provide you with a choice of available treatment options
• Explain why treatment is necessary and what it involves
• Provide you with a full treatment plan and estimate of costs
• Ensure all information is clear and easy to understand
• Provide quality dentistry using safe and modern equipment
and
• Advise you on how often you should have a check-up, based on your specific needs
Preventative dentistry
We strongly recommend making regular visits to your dentist and hygienist to maintain healthy teeth and gums. If problems are detected early, we can treat them before they develop further.
Seventh page:
Payment options
Payment for treatment is due after each appointment and can be made by cash or with most major credit cards. We also offer other payment options that make it easier to cover the cost of treatment. You can speak to your practice for further details.
Health Inspectorate Wales
All Bupa Dental Care practices are registered and compliant with Health Inspectorate Wales. For further details visit www.hiw.org.uk
Booking appointments
You can book your next appointment by calling our reception team or while in the practice. Online booking may also be available via our website. Your dentist will be able to advise you about when to come for your next dental check-up, and this will depend on the current health of your teeth and gums.
Emergency appointments
If you require emergency dental treatment, please call us as soon as possible for an appointment or for advice on the telephone. Should an emergency arise
outside of our opening hours, our answering service will advise you of what you can do to access treatment as soon as possible. Alternatively, call NHS 111 for medical advice.
Personal information
We recognise that when you give us personal information, you’re trusting us to take good care of it.
Please see bupa.co.uk/privacy for more information about how we collect, use and protect your data. If you don’t want to receive marketing about Bupa products and services that we think are relevant to you, please contact us at [email protected]
Eighth page:
Cancellations
We understand that things can crop up unexpectedly. If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please speak directly to the practice, who will advise you of what can be done to accommodate this.
Giving the practice advanced notice allows us to offer your appointment time to other patients, ensuring we can provide our patients with the best possible access to dental care at Bupa.
Please be aware that short-notice cancellation of private appointments may be subject to a charge.
Zero tolerance
We operate a zero-abuse policy, which includes both physical and verbal abuse directed towards any member of our team. Any patient found to be in breach of this policy may have to find alternative dental care. Please respect the team who looks after you.
Disability access
Please contact the practice in advance of your visit to understand what support is available for those with specific mobility needs. If the practice is not wheelchair accessible, our team will direct you to an alternative practice that can support your needs.
Parking
Most of our practices offer parking facilities or are located near a public car park. For more information about parking, please contact reception ahead of your appointment.
