Training and qualifications

Bindhu has achieved Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSE) and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd). They gained their periodontal specialist qualification from the University of London in 2001, before spending the next few years working at the Royal London Hospital. In 2006, Bindhu began working at Cardiff University as a clinical lecturer in restorative dentistry. their a senior fellow of the Higher Educational Academy, a Member of the Faculty of Dental Trainers of the RCSEd and an examiner for both the RCSE and RCSEd. Over the years, they have presented Bindhu's work nationally and internationally and have had it published in international periodontal journals.

Alongside this position, Bindhu worked in specialist practice and built on their experience in patient management and research, within the speciality of periodontology. Throughout their career, Bindhu has continued to make significant contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and has undertaken collaborative work involving research and education. They are experienced in providing all aspects of periodontics, including nonsurgical and surgical management, regeneration, aesthetics and supportive periodontal therapy. As well as self-referrals, they welcomes referrals from other dentists. Bindhu can offer second opinions to referred patients, and provide specialised treatment to those at high risk to help stabilise their periodontal condition. They can then monitor patients, as required, to help them achieve optimal dental health before returning them to the care of their general dentist.
