Alongside working at the practice, Tim is a clinical coach and mentor for Astra. Tim accepts referrals for oral surgery and dental implants from both the wider Bupa Dental Care family and a variety of other general dentists in the region. He also accepts referrals for advanced implant surgery including sinus grafts.

Dr Bindhu Koshy joined our practice in 2022 and solely provides specialist periodontal services for patients with gum disease.

She has achieved Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSE) and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd).

Bindhu gained her periodontal specialist qualification from the University of London in 2001, before spending the next few years working at the Royal London Hospital. Alongside this position, she worked in specialist practice and built on her experience in patient management and research, within the speciality of periodontology. In 2006, Bindhu began working at Cardiff University as a clinical lecturer in restorative dentistry.

Throughout her career, Bindhu has continued to make significant contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and has undertaken collaborative work involving research and education. She’s a senior fellow of the Higher Educational Academy, a Member of the Faculty of Dental Trainers of the RCSEd and an examiner for both the RCSE and RCSEd. Over the years, Bindhu has presented her work nationally and internationally and has had it published in international periodontal journals.

Bindhu is experienced in providing all aspects of periodontics, including nonsurgical and surgical management, regeneration, aesthetics and supportive periodontal therapy. As well as self-referrals, she welcomes referrals from other dentists. Bindhu can offer second opinions to referred patients, and provide specialised treatment to those at high risk to help stabilise their periodontal condition. She can then monitor patients, as required, to help them achieve optimal dental health before returning them to the care of their general dentist.

No, orthodontics for adults is becoming more and more common. We can talk through your options with you.

We do understand that some people really struggle with dental treatment. But we have lots of ways to help put you at ease. Please just tell us how you feel and what worries you, and then we can work together to decide on the right approach.

Generally we recommend twice yearly check-ups every six months. However, this varies on a case by case basis. Your Bupa Dental Care dentist will talk to you about when and how often we need to see you.

Fillings repair small holes in your tooth enamel. If they aren’t filled, the decay will deepen. You’ll start to feel pain, and you could end up needing root canal treatment, which is much more significant and costs more. So although you might not feel pain right now, it’s best to repair these holes as soon as possible.
