Training and qualifications
Ben qualified from the University of Leeds, where in his final year he won the British Dental Association Student Clinician competition and went on to represent the UK at the International Conference of the American Dental Association. He was also awarded a distinction for his oral surgery examination.
In 2005 Ben gained membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK) of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In 2015 he became one of the inaugural NHS Innovation Accelerator fellows.
More recently, Ben was named as one of the CQCs 70 individuals who have made a difference in primary medical services. As a result, he was made a member of the ‘Behaviour Change’ section development group for the latest version of the NHS England document: ‘Delivering Better Oral Health’.
When Ben is not at the practice, he runs the company behind the free Brush DJ app (the only dental app endorsed by the NHS), which has been downloaded in 216 countries on to over 500,000 devices.
