Training and qualifications

Reshmi qualified from King's College in 2008. She completed one year of training at the Royal Surrey Hospital in oral and maxillofacial surgery, where she learnt about surgical orthodontic management as well as complex dental extractions. She then went on to complete a two-year course in Advanced Operative Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry with the prestigious Aspire Dental Academy. As such, she has been trained in tooth wear rehabilitation, complex crown and bridge work, as well as composite bonding and smile design.

In order to ensure optimum oral health, Reshmi studied a short course in periodontics with the Royal College of Surgeons. This has taught her a holistic approach to periodontal disease and gum health.

Reshmi recognised that to provide minimally invasive and conservative treatment, a sound understanding of orthodontics was essential. She is therefore able to provide fixed appliances (train tracks), Inman aligners and clear aligners (such as Invisalign and Spark). She is currently learning about the importance of early intervention orthodontics and how to treat children younger before teeth become misaligned.

Finally Reshmi is studying the importance of a balanced bite (occlusion) and its relationship to the TMJ (temporomandibular joint). She is completing training in this field which will help patients manage their clenching/grinding habits whilst minimising damage to joints and teeth. She recognises the teeth, the joints and muscles must all function harmoniously.

To stay abreast with the latest clinical guidelines and dental ethics, Reshmi acts as an expert witness in clinical negligence claims.
