Alexandra Griffin

GDC - 74678 BDS (London) 1998, MFDS RCS (Eng), MSc Orthodontics (Warwick) Dentist

Having worked in Australia, Alex now divides her time between us and hospital work. She’s interested in orthodontics and dental trauma.

After graduating from the London Hospital Medical and Dental School in 1998, Alex did her vocational training and was then appointed as a senior house officer in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Royal Surrey Hospital, Guildford.

She gained her Fellowship in dental surgery in 2001 before moving to Australia to work at Westmead Hospital, Sydney, rotating between oral surgery, paediatric dentistry and forensic dentistry. This gave her a great deal of experience with nervous patients and sedation. She became involved with teaching students and nurses before going into private practice.

On returning to the UK, Alex continued to work in private practice and developed a special interest in orthodontics and the prevention and management of dental trauma.

She completed an MSc in Orthodontics at the University of Warwick in 2016 and is now an honorary clinical teaching fellow there.

Alex divides her time between Exeter Dental Centre and the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital, where she works as a specialty doctor in orthodontics.
