A big hello from our practice manager, Julia Board
We offer a wide range of dental services under one roof, and our goal is to take the stress out of going to the dentist.
We offer a broad range of advanced and restorative dentistry and can handle complex cases. We offer dental implants, root canal therapy, cosmetic dentistry, teeth whitening, smile makeovers and teeth straightening (orthodontics) options including Invisalign aligners. We believe in consistency, so once you’re happy with your dentist, you get to keep them!
Nervous patients
We understand how tough it can be if you’re anxious or even phobic about going to the dentist. Lots of nervous patients come to us because we really do get it. We believe in ‘gentle dentistry’ and may be able to offer conscious sedation during treatment. In reception, adult colouring books and stress balls can help take your mind off things.
Comfortable, relaxing surroundings
You can’t miss our lovely rounded white building with its bright blue awnings, just off Sidwell Street. We’ve made sure it’s a nice place to come: when you arrive, our friendly receptionists will welcome you and take your coat. While you wait, you can sink into a comfy sofa with a cup of coffee and pick up a glossy magazine. Music and fresh flowers make this seem like anywhere but a dental surgery.
We get a lot of dentist referrals
We welcome referrals from general practice dentists across Exeter and the whole of the South West.

What makes Exeter Dental Centre different?
Below are a few key things that make us unique.
A strong team of dentists
We have highly qualified dentists with considerable experience and expertise. Several teach undergraduate dentistry students, lecture internationally, or have worked or studied overseas. All of them are here because they want to achieve great results with minimum stress for the patient.

Advanced equipment
We’ve invested in the latest technology for precision diagnosis and treatment, giving greater confidence to our dentists and our patients. This includes:
- A 3D CBCT scanner
- Intra-oral cameras in every surgery (patients can see the images)
- A microscope for root canal therapy
- An air-flow polisher for removing stubborn tooth stains

We accept referrals
We welcome referrals from dentists, dental therapists, hygienists and clinical dental technicians across the South West. We can take NHS referrals for orthodontics, and all referrals are confirmed within 24 hours.
- Endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, implants, crowns, bridges, veneers and dentures
- Complex restorative dental care (we’ll always try to save a tooth)

Patient feedback
Whitening can be an important part of a smile makeover. We always check the suitability of your teeth, as it may not be recommended for some patients with high sensitivity. It’s important to know that we may not be able to treat all of your teeth: whitening can’t alter the colour of fillings, crowns, veneers, for example. Your dentist can explain and suggest any options open to you.
We do understand that some people really struggle with dental treatment. But we have lots of ways to help put you at ease. Please just tell us how you feel and what worries you, and then we can work together to decide on the right approach.
Generally we recommend twice yearly check-ups every six months. However, this varies on a case by case basis. Your Bupa Dental Care dentist will talk to you about when and how often we need to see you.
