Having qualified at the University of Glasgow in 2004, Fionna undertook general professional training between 2004 and 2006, obtaining her MFDS (RCSPGla).

She achieved her Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery FFD (OSOM) (RCSI) SHO between 2006 and 2009. She graduated with her MRes from Queen’s University Belfast in 2012 and has worked in specialist oral surgery practice ever since.
