Akit is registered as a specialist in prosthodontics with the General Dental Council. He’s a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS) and a fellow of the International Team for Implantology.

After graduating from Guy’s Dental Institute in 2002, Akit worked in general practice, before spending two years receiving training in oral and maxillofacial surgery, general medicine and dental specialties in a hospital setting. Whilst in private practice, Akit completed a prosthodontics specialist training programme at Eastman Dental Hospital and Institute, UCL in London. He gained an award for clinical and academic excellence in 2009, and completed a master’s degree with distinction, in fixed and removable prosthodontics.

Akit is an experienced prosthodontist, providing comprehensive and complex restorative care. He has strong interests in preventive and minimal intervention dentistry and cosmetic rehabilitation, as well as the provision of dentures, dental implants, bridges and crowns.

Alongside practising dentistry, Akit is a clinical teaching fellow in restorative dentistry, at UCL Eastman Dental Institute, as well as a lecturer for dental implant MSc programmes at the University of Bristol. He’s also an honorary consultant for 3M, GC and Straumann.
