After qualifying, Riccardo worked in general practice, alongside teaching at the University of Milan. In 2007, he relocated to the UK and undertook a three-year full-time master’s degree in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute, London. In 2010, he obtained his MClinDent in Periodontology, with distinction and gained a certificate in Periodontology from the European Federation of Periodontology.
During his career, Riccardo has had continuous involvement with academics. From 2010 to 2016, he held the positions of clinical research associate and senior clinical teaching fellow at the Eastman Dental Institute, UCL. He’s currently a visiting lecturer for the specialist master’s program in periodontology and implant dentistry at the institute, as well as for their distance learning MSc in Periodontology and MSc in Dental Hygiene. He’s also a member of both the International Team for Implantology and the British Society of Periodontology.
Riccardo devotes his time between clinical private practice and teaching commitments. He’s experienced in all types of periodontal and dental implant treatments, including guided tissue regeneration, guided bone regeneration, bone grafting and periodontal plastic surgery. He has also been published in peer-reviewed journals and lectures nationally.
Riccardo said, “I teach periodontology, implant dentistry and advanced surgical techniques in a postgraduate university setting. I also lecture locally and nationally, hoping to contribute to increase the knowledge and skills of my dental colleagues. My main interests are in periodontal tissue regeneration, rehabilitation of patients with dental implants, gum plastic surgery and bone grafts. I am comfortable treating periodontal and dental implant cases of all levels of complexity, using the knowledge and skills acquired through my postgraduate qualifications, clinical experience and postgraduate teaching experience.
