Sameera graduated from the University of Leeds, and completed their dental vocational training in Cambridge. They spent some time working as an oral and maxillofacial senior house officer at the University Hospital in Nottingham, before returning to Cambridge to work in practice.

Sameera taught undergraduate dental students as an honorary clinical demonstrator at King's Hospital restorative department.
