Neil originally qualified as a doctor, at the University of Glasgow in 2001. He gained extensive surgical experience and qualified as a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MRCS) in 2005.
Neil developed an interest in the treatment of head and neck diseases while working in ear, nose and throat, and plastic and reconstructive surgery departments across Scotland. He went on to train in dentistry at the University of Aberdeen Dental School, where he graduated in 2012.
Working in two very busy clinics in Glasgow, Neil gained experience in dental sedation and dental implants. He’s carried out postgraduate training in these areas, going on to become an NHS education for Scotland sedation mentor, allowing him to train colleagues. He completed the Scottish Dental Implant Year Course in 2014 and has completed further advanced training in the restoration of single, multiple and full mouth implants. He’s also gained experience in using bone grafting and augmentation procedures to allow implant placement in cases where conventional techniques may mean implant treatment is not possible.
Neil is committed to working with his patients to discuss and choose the treatment option to suit their needs. He finds this particularly satisfying when helping patients with dental anxiety to build confidence back up to allow treatment to be completed.
