After graduating from the University of Antioquia, Colombia in 1996, Giovanny worked as a general dental practitioner before continuing their studies and gaining a postgraduate qualification in health administration in 1999.

Giovanny moved to Spain in 2001 and completed postgraduate studies in prosthodontics and periodontics in 2007. They then relocated to London where they began working in private dentistry. In subsequent years, Giovanny completed a range of postgraduate studies including a Swiss masterclass in advanced surgery and an implantology certificate in the UK in 2015. They are a member of the European Federation of Periodontology, the Spanish Society of Periodontology and Osseointegration, the British Society of Periodontology and the Spanish Society of Prosthodontics.
