Training and qualifications
He graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2008 and completed his vocational training with the London Deanery. After working in general practice, he was successful in obtaining a further training post in oral and maxillofacial surgery, at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital. Here, he gained experience within dento-alveolar surgery, maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, and head and neck oncology. During this post, he completed a diploma for the Membership of The Joint Dental Faculties of The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Continuing his postgraduate development, Simon then obtained a career development role within special care dentistry at Barts and the London Dental Hospital. In this role he treated patients with complex medical problems and dental phobias. In this year, he completed the UCL Eastman Dental Institute’s Certificate in Restorative Dental Practice.
In 2013, he completed a three-year training program in specialist orthodontics, at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He was awarded a master’s degree in Clinical Dentistry in 2015, with his research investigating the impact of developmentally missing teeth on children’s quality of life. And in 2016, he achieved the Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
