Shaila Patel-Buxton

GDC - 71061 BDS QMUL (1995) Dentist

Shaila is experienced in helping nervous and phobic patients overcome their fear of visiting the dentist.

Training and qualifications

Shaila qualified at The Royal London Hospital in 1995 and became a member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners in 1998. She has years of experience working in private and family practice, from treating children to the elderly. She joined our team after being the on-site dentist at an international law firm for many years.

She creates a calm and friendly atmosphere to help put her patients at ease and is happy to answer any questions they might have, as she believes communication is the key for any patient and dentist relationship.

Shaila has a natural ability in helping people to overcome their anxiety about visiting the dentist. Initial consultations can always be carried out away from the dental surgery to understand any specific issues or concerns patients may have before starting treatment.

Shaila takes a gentle approach to dentistry with bespoke solutions for each patient. This includes using distraction techniques such as music for relaxation, applying numbing gel or using ‘the wand’ for painless injections. Oral or IV sedation can also be arranged, to put you into a deeply relaxed state during your treatment.

Shaila is passionate about helping her patients to achieve their oral health goals as well as creating beautiful smiles. Her artistic and creative nature inspires her to construct beautiful aesthetic dental restorations, always considering the colour and individual character of patients’ teeth.

By participating in regular professional development, and discussing treatment with the team at London Bank, Shaila keeps up to date with the latest techniques in dentistry.
