David Wilmot

GDC - 56533 BDS 1982 FDSRCS 1990 MSc 1993 Dentist

Passionate about restorative dentistry.

David Wilmot has gained over thirty 30 years’ experience since he qualified from Edinburgh University in 1982. In 1990 he achieved a fellowship in dental surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and went on to receive a master’s in science in Conservative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute in 1993.

As a restorative specialist Dr Wilmot’s work includes conservative dentistry (such as fillings), crowns and bridgework (including inlays, onlays and veneers) all being carried out using a microscope. He has extensive experience in root canal and re-root canal treatments. He also covers all aspects of gum treatment, including the treatment of areas of recession and the regeneration of lost bone and the use of dental implants where teeth have been lost.

Dr Wilmot enjoys making dental treatment a pleasant experience, especially for those for whom this may not always have been the case, both with and without the use of anaesthetist assisted sedation techniques.

At this time he also set up the first community based referral service in restorative dentistry, where he continues to consult one day a week. Dr Wilmot enjoys making dental treatment a pleasant experience, which is reflected in his special interest of treating dental-phobic patients.
