Implant Dentist Peter Sanders
My name is Peter Sanders.
I'm the implant dentist here at Dental Confidence.
My role for the last 25 years has been simply limited to implant dentistry.
Naturally, over 25 years we've learnt the skills to treat a whole range of patients from the straightforward implant cases to the very complex cases that might involve bone augmentation, bone grafting or sinus lifts, and which enables us to offer a range of options to our patients.
The majority of our patients are still referred by colleagues because they know then trust us to look after their patients and return them happy with the experience.
But of course in the, in the, in the new world, there are a number of patients finding us through social media and the Internet.
And again, the endorsement of local dental practises is, is very helpful because they know that that trust is very important, particularly in implant dentistry, which is very involved in complex.
So fortunately implants has come along as a, as a treatment option that allows us to provide implant support to false teeth in a variety of ways.
And we can simply use a couple of implants with little studs and clips and they allow a denture to click in place so it stays put.
That's a great help.
For some people we can use and more implants in a bar connecting to the implants that allows a denture to click onto the bar and for some patients that's a great help.
The challenge is if we if we start with the patient who's got a failing restoration and we want to give them something secure and that and restore their confidence.
We have to have a journey from one to the other and that's where Smile in a Day becomes an amazing solution for them because they can walk into the surgery after the planning and the the scanning.
They can walk into the surgery with this failing dentition, failing mouth.
We can remove all the infected material, remove the failing teeth and place the implants at the same appointment and fit a pre made bridge that gives them immediately something to go home smiling with.
That's a very overwhelming experience for all of us because seeing somebody who comes in lacking in confidence with a failing mouth and going home with a smile and confidence restored instantly one day is remarkable.
Our approach as a team generally is very relaxed and I always like to sit at the patient's height, for example, because they feel less threatened.
The surgery we've laid out and had designs so it's not full of arms and gadgets.
You know, we've got a dental light and that's it.
And, and the whole idea is that we can give them an opportunity at least of, of trying to relax in our company and we don't rush things.
So, you know, a consultation in 40 minutes, we might simply have a conversation and there's no rush.
It's the patients timescale, not ours.
