Training and qualifications
Margaret graduated from the University of Leeds in 1998 and began her career working in general dental practice in Cheltenham.
Margaret gained more experience through hospital placements in oral and maxillofacial surgery in City Hospital, Birmingham, and restorative dentistry in the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Sheffield. She gained her Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (Glasgow) in 2001. In 2002, Margaret began working in orthodontic specialist practice.
In 2005, she spent a year in Canada teaching dental students at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. On return to the UK, she completed her postgraduate specialist orthodontic training at Leeds Dental Institute and Pinderfields Hospital. Margaret was awarded the Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2011 and gained her master’s in Dental Science with merit from the University of Leeds in the same year.
Margaret entered the GDC specialist list of orthodontics in 2011. She regularly attends the British Orthodontic Society annual conference and completes other courses to keep her knowledge and skills up to date.
She enjoys treating patients and works with her patients, taking time to explain the treatment options to them and reassuring anxious patients regarding any concerns they may have, to ensure they are satisfied with their orthodontic journey.
