Training and qualifications
Gavin Welsh is an oral surgeon and specialist in restorative dentistry. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and has a doctorate in dental surgery from the University of Edinburgh.
Gavin was awarded for his work with lasers in the diagnosis of tooth decay, and he also spent time at Baylor College of Dentistry Clinic in Texas and the Panum Institute University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Gavin's special interests include the periodontal/restorative interface. He has considerable experience in all aspects of restorative dentistry, having held clinical and academic appointments in Edinburgh, Newcastle, and Liverpool Dental Hospitals, and was recently a consultant in restorative dentistry at the University of Manchester Dental Hospital.
Gavin has experience of innovative new techniques in periodontal tissue regeneration, and he has a particular interest in the use of ceramic restorations in cosmetic and advanced restorative dentistry and the placement of implants.
