Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, he graduated in 1986 with the BSc (Hons) degree in Physiology from the University of Stellenbosch. In 1991, he completed the BChD Dentistry degree from the same university.

David emigrated to the United Kingdom in 2004 in order to pursue further postgraduate studies. His keen interest in oral surgery and oral medicine saw him complete the MSc Oral Surgery degree at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) in 2013, followed by the MSc Periodontology degree with Distinction in 2016, from the International Medical College (IMC) in Germany. David has also recently completed the MClinDent Periodontology degree with Distinction, at the College of Medicine and Dentistry (COMD) in Birmingham.

David currently works in four UK private practices with services limited to Periodontology and Oral Surgery. He also teaches and is a clinical supervisor to postgraduate students at the COMD.

Furthermore, he is registered with the General Dental Council and holds membership with the British Dental Association and British Society of Periodontology.
