What is Dental Cover 20?
Dental Cover 20 is a dental insurance policy for privately registered patients.
We’ll pay up to £150 per year for preventative dental treatment such as check ups and scale and polish. We'll also pay up to 75% of your restorative dental treatment costs up to £700 per year. Restorative dental treatment includes fillings, crowns, bridges and extractions; there is a four month waiting period from when you join the scheme for any restorative dental treatment.
Emergency and injury dental treatment is also catered for subject to waiting periods. There is also unlimited cover† for oral cancer treatment subject to a six month waiting period from the start of your plan.

What’s not covered
Some examples of what’s not covered on this policy:
- Treatment received outside of the UK
- Cosmetic treatment
- Dental injury whilst participating in a physical contact sport such as rugby or boxing
- Dental injury as a direct or indirect result of an external impact before the start date of the policy or outside the UK
- Dental treatment resulting from or related to a self-inflicted injury
- Fissure sealants
- Mouthguards
- Orthodontic treatment
- Pre-existing conditions (this means you had symptoms or knew about the condition before you joined the policy, or a dental professional had already recommended the dental treatment.)
- Surgical implants
- Any treatment in the waiting period when you first join the policy
- Restorative dental treatment received or planned at your first dental examination if you have not had a dental examination in the 24 months before you join the policy.
