Sharmila Khopade completed her postgraduate studies at Nair Hospital Dental College, in India, with a merit certificate. Sharmila has experience in periodontal plastic procedures including soft and hard tissue surgeries, correction of gummy smiles, treating depigmentation on gums and non-surgical management of patients with medical conditions.

She has presented regionally, nationally and internationally on a range of periodontal therapy related topics and has published papers in several peer reviewed dental journals. She is actively involved in various research projects having many research articles to her credit. She has also written a book around periodontal tissue healing.

Sharmila is a specialist periodontist with a particular interest in gum care and gum surgery. She has experience in carrying out a range of dental procedures and surgeries and welcomes referrals. Sharmila also works at another dental practice in London as a consultant periodontist.
